So I was just about to get on my cranky machine for a 15+ mile ride to make up for not getting any exercise yesterday due to a great PGR mission and blink... RUSH/FLASH TODAY appeared in my email...

Less than 1 hour from notice to KSU for the ride, I thought... gotta do it, not many can under this time line....

TEN (10) bikes showed up!!!!! Fee Nom In AL!!!!!! Thanks to all that ride! God Bless!

Army Specialist Kester Willy (our bagpiper's son) was coming into San Jose! And a ride was on the books...

I pulled into the staging point and didn't expect to see anyone yet, and there were 8 bikes already there!!!! I made 9 and Doug met us before escort home.. Ahem, he was a tad late.... What's that Spike???!!! I can't hear you!! GBG

We had a few minutes to spare, getting ready to line up....

PGR - Welcome home Marine Cpl Alan Wiggins

One of our PGR and veterans support parents son Alan is coming home, and a PGR welcome home ride was on the books!

The stars lined up and almost 40 bikes showed up! Fantastic turnout! Thanks to all that ride!

Now here is the neat part, Alan was to meet mom at our staging and he didn't know about PGR being there.... you will see the Oh Sh*t below... GBG

PGR Wreaths Across America GGNC San Bruno, Ca 08

Wreaths Across America! Number three for me, it was a cold ride up 280 at 0800 but felt like I had to go.. and "ahem", I'm the ONLY rider on his scoot there! That was for Rich M! GBG

Afterward it was on to my VROC Polar Bear Ride starting at Livermore... Don did a blog for us: http://tinyurl.com/5fwg47 But back to our honor mission to GGNC...

There was a nice crowd this year, hope more folks make it in the future!

The lady with us is a Gold Star Mom,Sue Turley, we visited her son's grave afterward, pics at the bottom.... behind are Rich B, John, Cranky (me) and Rich M. She offered a Prayer for all that have fallen at the service.

BTW, she is a pastor at the VA hospital in Palo Alto! Thank you for being there for them!

A pic of the ceremony where all the flags and wreaths are to be placed. John on the left, one of our PGR members and a fellow ALR District 13 rider got drafted to place the Army wreath. Rich Martin also got drafted for the Marine honors, this is two years in a row for him.

The sun played heck on my photos, it was just coming over the hill, as you can see by the wreath on the cement, it was quite windy and cool. This is the first time we did not do it up on the hill, I guess that was good as it would have been windier up there...

Debbie, one of our Pacifica Blue Star Moms is placing the MIA / POW wreath, sorry for the blur, but I wanted to show the photo.

After the service, which lasted about 1/2 hour, we visited two graves, Debbie placing a wreath on Travis J. Layfield's grave.

PGR - Pleasonton Veterans Day Parade

Veterans Day! And Parades are in order! Pleasanton is today - 11/2 - and San Jose is, gee whiz, on 11/11! Veteran's Day!

The weather was supposed to be "iffy" but turned out nice, it did not rain all day...er, until John and I headed back home, John had just pulled off and about a mile down the road, the skies opened up! It was for two miles, just enough to mess things up, sigh. But the parade was good for all!

Bike count as close as I could guess, as folks kept arriving at different times and a group escorted Heuy to the parade, was about 25. We made up for that in volume! GBG

So District 13 ALR staged at Post 564 to ride to the parade staging a bit before 0900 and of course Jake had to show up 1 minute before 0900 shouting "I'm not late" GBG

After the parade, we did not have to wear helmets or much gear during the parade, so time to suit up for the ride home and the "shower"!

The town turned out in force, nice crowd. They enjoyed the parade as I think we all did!

PGR - Visit Roland (Chapi) Garza and Roy Adams

Doug wanted PGR to visit a couple of members that got some bumps to see how they were doing and to wish them God Speed.

As I've had the honor of PGR riding for me after a "get off" time for me to ride for another!

We staged at Shell on McKee, Brian pulled up after the pic so I missed his bike, Goldie in the front!. We had 11 bikes with one 2-up.

The front two are Gary and Hardass, fellow ALR riders, they were first on site when I had my "get off" on 680. Gary has been carrying a "broken wings" patch to give me that will be on my vest soon! Thanks Gary!!! Hardass got his 'nic from going out of Gilroy on 152, garlic season, early in the day, garlic leaves and dew on the ground, if you see stuff on the road and it's wet, look out! It took him down immediately! Glad you made it!

Roland looked in great spirits! His left arm had some work but other than that he seemed fine. As the old saying goes, "10 fingers and 10 toes and they all work! GTG!" Spike in front waiting to say GO NAVY!!!!!!!! He has fun with Sgtmaj.... USMC, Roland got into the act also!

Roland's wife, they were in a hurry as they were on to way to a wedding... he was naming all the members to his wife, I wish I could do that! And off we went to Brentwood. Stopped for a cause break and then on to Roy's house.

We arrive at Roy's place, Roy on the left, with a bit of noise made... That's Tony on the left of Sgtmaj in front, he' a Msgt in the USAF and stationed at Moffett. He's our Moffett rep! Nice to see him out on a ride. When we went for home, he took the Patterson Pass road, real pretty!

We went out back where it was cooler and visited for a while and then time to get back on Vasco!

It was great to visit with Roland and Roy, God Bless and asking for a fast and complete recovery! See you both on a ride when you are ready!

PGR - 9/11/08 Ceremony Moffettt Field

PGR was invited to many remembrance ceremonies on 9/11 and a few of us selected Moffett Field, Ca. Some members also went on to other ceremonies.

Moffett ceremony was organized by the American Legion and most of us are AL members as well as PGR riders. PGR was founded by ALR - American Legion Riders, and many of us are ALR also.

We staged in a parking lot outside the a Moffett main gate to get escort inside, it's real nice, no hassle entry and led to our destination.

We were told to stage our bikes behind the podium as backdrop for the service and later some fire engines came in... Goldie in the front!

One of the trucks arrived and I got a pic of the group, I missed Goldie in the pic... We were asked to stand on the right side of our bikes as backdrop, as were the firefighters. We were introduced by the MC and thanked for our attendance.

The podium and speakers on the left and the attendees facing us.. the gent speaking did quite a speech, there was an empty table in front of him and it was for the POW / MIA, those that are still serving until brought home. That gent was our District 13 Commander, of which I'm a member.

It was quite moving and a tribute to those that we owe so much. There was a placing of covers from the services and an explaination of the setting and what it meant. When Amazing Grace with bag pipes played.... well it always gets me in the gut, this was a recording and real fine!

The fire dept raised a flag and brought it down to 1/2 mast. The entire event was well done! There was also a bag pipe player, a deputy from one of the local cities.

Thanks to those that made this event possible and inviting PGR to attend!

The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to honor US Army Veteran Jim Martino Korean War Veteran.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we must post California has lost another American Hero. Sgt. 1st Class Jim Martino, of Cameron Park, CA, who passed away on Aug 7, 2008. He served with the United States Army, served in combat in Korea with G Company 180th Infantry. Born in Doylestown PA. May 31, 1929, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Heyser, Daughters, Dianne of Citrus Heights, Wendy of Santa Clarita, Son, Scott of Brea, and 5 Grandchildren. Honor Guard will be assisting the family with military rights at the graveside.

And a PGR mission is born! Actually we can thank John Muir, and easily remembered name, as he is a family friend and made arrangements for Jim's mission with PGR.

We had 11 riders, and a lot were ALR members from a few places, I'm one myself. And as always there were many others, and I thank all that came to honor a fallen hero. You being there made a difference!

PGR - WWII Vet Paul Telles Los Altos

PGR had a mission for a WW II Vet and they, as all others, deserve respect, and I'd like to think we owe the WWII vets a bit more! Thank you for your service Paul Telles!!

This was a PGR mission that never got announced, and I went to the staging point thinking I would be the only person there, sigh. I've done it before and will do it again.... 1 of us carries all our spirits!

It would have been nice if PGR would have made it a mission, then family members could visit, I could post my blog, other folks could've thanked Paul for his service.

There were 7 riders!!! God Bless the other 6, I'll do 1 on 1 with the Lord myself!!! GBG

First, I want to thank those that came, YOU make a difference!!!

Stanley - Maybe a new rider and hope to see him again, Larry (and maybe a new Dist 13 ALR member! 4th tues at 1800!!! GBG), Glen - a Dist 13 rider, Bill (Bunker) Roller - ALR Dist 10 - he signed up to be RC on the mission! Good on Ya Bunker!!!, Craig and Brian.- Both long time PGR riders!

Again, I cannot thank you all enough for being there!

We staged at a Shell station close to the services, Craig, Glen, Brian, Bunker, Larry and Stan...

We made it to the service St Lawrence the Martyr, and park in front... 0930 a flag line... The family was VERY appreciative of our being there! Every one of the immediate family came by and thanked us!

Craig got a special surprise, one of his motorcycle riding friends was there, as mourning family, he was shocked, he said.... Telles, I never made the connection, it was a very special mission for Craig, God Bless!

PGR - Welcome Home Army Staff Sgt. Rhoan Laymon

"The PGR has been asked to do a Welcome Home for Army Staff Sgt. Rhoan Laymon. He's coming into San Jose Airport from Ft. Lewis, Wa. on Thurs July 10, at 2:10pm (1410), with his wife Audra....." And a PGR welcome home ride is on the books!!

And as always, the Blue Star Moms are there! Thank you so much, as Rich said your being there adds so many smiles to the soldiers coming home.

Doug (Sgtmaj) was going to RC this one but he was feeling a bit crappy, so Rich M took over.. Hope you get to feeling better Doug!

We met at our favorite staging site for San Jose missions and Rich had already cleared parking for us at terminal C. We had five bikes.. Pretty good for a mid week short notice!

Title says it all, Pacifica Blue Star Moms invited us to a honorary picnic and The Balsley family asked us to stop by for a birthday celebration for their son, RIP.

So we left at 1300 and headed to Hayward... Spike did a good job of getting us there, OK, my definition, we made it safely!! GBG We had a couple of cages that did an outstanding support job!! Thank you!!! Yes, thank you too Bunker, our tailgunner!

This picture is Golden also, this is a picture of Gold Star Parents, they've all lost their own, may the Good Lord comfort you as he is your loved ones.

Last year they had a Huey Fly over, and this year also!! The Huey is owned by a private citizen, friend of Jim, this is the Huey he flew in Vietnam & has restored it.

It was a great day, and I'd like to thank our friends that invited us, as in all PGR missions it was a very distinct honor, I speak for all, that feeling of honor comes from deep in our heart! God Bless you and thanks!!

PGR - Donald L. Sesso, 60, Army Veteran

Another Nam area vet passes... Brother Tony asked PGR to attend and proud to be there, and there were many more, and joined by many FCRC riders.

Tony is National President of Freedom Cruisers Riding Club and a Patriot Guard rider.. I belong to both, and many do.

The procession came into Dixon National Cemetery about 1110. Biker Boy and I were at the gate to salute all that passed.

The procession coming for the 1130 service for Don. They will circle the gazebo where the service is held.

Military cemetery funerals are VERY structured, they will begin and end within a 30 minute period.

Our flag line, almost a dozen FCRC members and of course PGR includes any who choose to honor the fallen heroes.

The Bikes in the parking area, some are already gone, but I counted 19 bikes with one two up. A fine showing for mid-week, and to honor a fallen hero that served and had many medals and honors.

Jerry (JJ) Jayden Nguyen was coming home and PGR received this note:

Just received an update from JJ's fiance: Sergeant Jerry Jayden Nguyen and his fiance will be leaving Fort Bragg , North Carolina and arrived in San Jose on Friday, June 6 at 10:56 a.m. from Delta Airlines. JJ served in Afghanistan for over a year.

I apologize for my blurry pics, but it's what I have, I have to learn how to take quicker indoor pics..

We have a nice staging point near the airport.. bikes lined up and more were coming... We had 10 bikes total, and for mid week that is great! I very much thank all that attended and JJ's smile was worth it!

It's just great to welcome home folks, he has to go back for a bit, but hope not long and comes back soon!!! Again, a HUGE thank you to those that attended, YOU made the difference!

Well we had some 129th folks coming home! Great news! AND only ONE change in plans!!!
Stay tuned, more are coming in June 5th, we hope!! I LIKE 'um coming home!

Unfortunately we had a few show up 5/28 at the day that didn't happen, sigh...

So we staged at the Valero on San Bruno Ave, as usual... and had a great crowd! 14 bikes, we gained two more with the transport military riders at SFO, and one more merged, on the way to Moffett so there were 17.

I did learn a lesson the hard way, that's normal... I came up 280 and over on 380 to 101 and went right by San Bruno Ave!!! There was no exit! #)$!*%) So I got a short tour of SFO and back on 101 back to San Bruno Ave, sigh...

I'd also like to thank the Mt Diablo HOG and STAR riders for being there, they are consistent riders!!

"The Bus"!! Those poor folks had to go into "quarantine" and get blood taken out, and I don't want to know why! I'm very sure they just wanted to see their families that were a short distance away!!!

It gave the group about an hour to visit and a lot of troops came by to chat, even an ALR member!

This was a pic of the parade! Of course we had some "fun" on the freeway, but that's normal... Tony did a GREAT job with the mission, we slipped thru security, no hassle! And we had a security escort with the lights flashing and when we left to go to the families, siren's a blaring!!! And of course, there were some mufflers barking quite loud!!

The flag line that the folks were going to walk thru... Did you ever hear of hurry up and wait!!!?? So we waited while the troops ate a hot dog and then they walked thru!! And that was real nice!! It was a GREAT honor to watch the troops and their families walk by! Many thank yous and welcomes were spoke!

The reward for patience!!!!! We got to bite a dawg too!!! They had a bunch on the grill so we got to "participate"!!! GBG And at 1430, folks were "eating 'um up" !!! GBG

I keep telling folks, on PGR missions, there is NO lunch break! Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich and carry trail mix!!! You will survive!! If you don't ... you will get very hungry!!! GBG

PGR - Visit GGNC Memorial Day 08

Memorial Day 08..... so many places to go... I guess I've chosen GGNC (Golden Gate National Cemetery) as my place... I've done two years of Wreathes Across America and have done many missions to GGNC.

The hill and the flag at the top at half mast, as it always is, always stands out. We had six PGR and as normal we come from many different bike groups, but ALR Dist 13 was well represented!

Gary and wife (I'll have to write her name on the back of my hand Gary!!! I'm sorry... GBG) were there two up, as was Audie and Cheryl, and we had one of our great PGR supporters Mark from the Walnut Creek Hogs was there, I've seen him on many missions.

The last pic is all of us at the San Bruno American Legion having lunch after the services...

The hill, the flags, and the main flag at half mast is always awesome!!!

The boy scouts put up over 112,000 flags, every grave had a flag, VERY impressive and you know what? They did it in three hours! That is amazing!

The flags around the speakers and elsewhere was the avenue of flags and was represented by one of the folks at the speakers box.

They had a nice band, bag pipes for Amazing Grace and some nice speakers. Jackie Speier was there. For those that remember she went to Jones Town with Representative Leo Ryan and got shot five times, Leo died. Some of you might remember the Jones town Massacre.... sigh...

This was a display of rifles and helmets, some were old.. very nice touch... veterans over time...

After the service we went to the San Bruno American Legion for lunch, and a nice place and lunch it was! I thank them for their hospitality and they were all just like family!

One wall had many framed mementos, Bill "the bartender" told us about them!! He was also the Post Commander!

There were may hundreds of folks there, a couple folks at the gate with some signs like 4000 is
enough, get out now, but everyone has a right to their thoughts, that's what those that are buried
there fought for.

There was no protest, just a small poster held up...

The MC at the services came to the American Legion for lunch, she sat next to our table, and
thanked us for being there! She said she read that PGR was going to be there and she was
pleased!

She said the protesters were very quiet when we showed up.. (can you hear anything when your
bike is on??!!! GBG) And thanked us for keeping them quiet.... I said "of course", gee, we'll take
the credit... GBG A joke and was taken as such!

I have to tell a stoopid on me, I have a tank map, printed out the map to the staging place and cut most of it off as I wanted to zoom in on where DeAnza left the freeway... this was a few days ago and, well, age.. sigh... memory = 0...

So I take the DeAnza turn off.... didn't see the road, looked at my map and the freeway was 85, I took 280, sigh, turn around and rezero, heck getting old!!! GBG

So I finally get to the staging point feeling like a idiot, but I made it, took some pics of the folks and bikes.

We had seven bikes, which for a Sunday in the middle of Memorial Day weekend is quite good!

Brian is in the middle, a STAR rider, as is Rich (on the right), Dave (you can see him right behind Brian) and others, and rides for many PGR missions, and also attended my ride home from my "get off". I did not know this welcome home was for his step son!! Made it that much more enjoyable!!!

Now it gets interesting... I've been on "clandestine" missions, but this one impressed me, mom and son did not know there would be a big welcome!!! Mom's sis made the arrangements!!

So we had an opportunity to welcome home one of our finest! Sgt R.J. Saunders! We really like welcome homes!! And this was his second tour and hopefully last, his mission is complete!

His folks are USO volunteers, as my wife Donna is, so there was a good turnout and PGR did good also, we had sixteen folks and bikes as I recall...

So off we went to stage at the Chevron by the airport!

I was cracking up as we left for the airport, Doug has a GPS, out we went and made the first right, and of course, I knew that was wrong.... we gathered, made a U'ie and got back on track, it really cracked me up!! I could just see the chagrin on his face, even under the helmet!!!! GBG We all do it Doug!!!

Short Notice!!!! We had two today!! And VERY glad to ride in support of our troops coming home!! God Bless an Merry Christmas!!!

It's amazing the support on short notice, and Doug did his usual great job at airport GQ!

My camera was set wrong and some of the pics were blurred very bad, sigh, but they're what I have, get my new camera on Wed!!!

Initially five bikes showed up but Rich called someof his buddies and two more showed up! Fantastic showing for a one day notice!! Thank you ALL for being there!

This pic is great!! Rich enlisted three new PGR members on the spot! They asked what were were doing, and they got the PGR talk! New members! Rich is on the right, the three new members to the left of him!

It was funny, we stood in two lines, there were the airport isle markers that had a small walkway on each side, the main isle was lined by us....

Folks getting off planes would normally NOT walk thru our line! They would walk behind us, I thought that was interesting.

And here is our homecoming hero shaking our new PGR members hands!!! They were really excited!

He took the time to walk the line and shake all hands!!!

Here we are at home! The entire family was excited, and why not! We had a great ride, and I think the neighborhood "noticed" !! GBG

OK, I can't see my camera screen and the flash wasn't on, sigh, some of the pics are blurred, double sigh, I should get my new one on Wed!!!

Very short notice to welcome Heidi home at San Jose Int, SJC. We had a great turnout on such short notice, five bikes and 2 in a cage!

So her instructions to the family was... don't want anybody to meet me at the airport!!! Called brothers girl friend and said don't tell ANYONE!!!

Now we know how that works, eh????!!!! GBG So family, Blue Star Moms, PGR and I'm sure there were bystanders just waiting.

So we had five bikes at the staging, we got to do this twice today for a 1000 and 1500 welcome home, these are fun rides!

PGR ALR Wreaths Across America GGNC 12 15 07

For the second year, Wreaths Across America was celebrated by PGR and others to honor those that served.

The Wreaths Across America story began over 15 years ago when Worcester Wreath Company (a for-profit commercial business from Harrington, Maine) began a tradition of placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nation's fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery.

Over that period of time, Worcester Wreath has donated 75,000 wreaths which were placed by volunteers in a wreath-laying ceremony each December. This year, Worcester Wreath Company will do even more to show its respect and appreciation for those who serve, by doing the following:

* Doubling its annual donation to 10,000 wreaths destined for Arlington National Cemetery.

* In addition to the Arlington Wreath Project, Worcester Wreath will donate 2,500 wreaths to the Maine Veterans Cemetery at Togus, and over 1,800 ceremonial wreaths, representing all branches of the armed forces, will be sent to over 200 other state and national veterans cemeteries across the Country.

And that included Golden Gate National Cemetery where a group of ALR and PGR folks went on 12/15/07 to honor our fallen heroes. Wreaths were presented to all service flags to honor those that have passed.

Six of us staged at Camden and Branham park and ride in San Jose. Sweet Ruby front right, Gary's bike front left, Martin - Blue Streak on the right rear, and Jake left rear. Doug and his boy were caging it in the pickup truck in front.

Here we are staged by the flag pole, we made good time and was there by about 0820. We totaled thirteen.

We met Audie and Cheryl, Roy Adams who I met at a Walnut Creek escort to Dixon National Cemetery, Rich, Alise, Lilli, and I'm missing someone, the memory, sigh.

A great group to honor our fallen veterans! Col Leo McArtle was the spokesman and sponsor, and he promised that he would be back next year.

We also had a large group of "civilians" GBG for the ceremony! Deb from Pacifica, as always, and Ed Chapman, Jessie's dad was there, and many more!

Our group was the backdrop, as always. Sorry for the pic as it was into the sun.

I had to take this shot! The marines didn't show up!!! The ones that were to be part of the service, Leo asked our group if we had some marines, third from left is Doug, and Rich to the right of the wreath, standing tall!

When Rich tried to do the 180 spin, his boots did not like it, maybe he's a bit rusty!!! GBG Just kidding!

This one of the two buglers, I've not seen that before, and they both knew what they were doing and the "echo'd" the taps, quite nice! One would play then the other would play, back and forth, a rare treat!

The final arrangement with the flags in the rear and honor guard upper right, three volleys fired.

Alise and Martin had wreaths to lay at one of their families graves. Alise's dad was just around the flag pole right on top, and Martin led us to where his father in law was buried, back in '64. We as a group escorted them in honor of their fallen.

Martin played the taps on a flute for him, very nice! And then it was on to Bakers Square for brunch / lunch, your call...

After we were into our meal, Bill Roller called, he, and two more ALR Dist 10 had attended the Presidio service in San Francisco. I asked Rich Biddlecome why he wasn’t at Santa Nella, then it hit me that I confused him with Rich 99.

And here is a lot of the others that came to show their respects. I don't know who reserved that room but it saved us a lot of time, as the place became quite full!

PGR - Welcome Home - RP3 Marcus Hicks, USN, Los Gatos CA

RP3 Marcus Hicks was home and mom and dad asked PGR to come to a video event in the Santa Cruz / Los Gatos "hills". From San Jose, it's just over the 17 Summit on the right. Marcus wanted to show some of what Iraq, and his group was about.

The RP3 is a rank of Religious Protector, a Chaplin's escort..

There was to be a meeting place and escort, Doug won the straw pull... As I went over the hill, I saw his bike and pulled in. His "escort" was to walk across the parking lot!!! GBG

We had four folks show up, Glen, talking to Doug and Gary... of course me taking pics..

I dared to take one pic inside, I did not want to intrude. Mom took a bunch and I thought she was going to send them to me, this is why I waited to post.

She took some great pics of Marcus, dad and friend in and on our bikes! Marcus will be a scoot rider, his eyes were glowing!! GBG

There was a Q+A after the show, one of the folks asked "what do you think about the support you get at home"?

This was a gut shot - the first thing he said was, I want to thank the gentlemen at the back of the room, PGR. He said what we've all heard - we feel helpless over there, we appreciate the support at home.

PGR - WWII Veteran Pvt 1st Class Stan Gold, US Army

A very memorable mission, as they all are, and they are all different. Another of our finest has passed on, God is holding him in His Loving Arms, and Healing Prays for those left behind.

We had thirteen bikes at the escort site, real nice turn out! The Walnut Creek Chapter HOG riders were there as they are apt to be for folks in their area, and the family was very appreciative of all that attended.

I believe we had four or five first time riders! Thank You!!!!

The way the mission rolled out was a bit different, but that's normal, they all are. Pvt 1st Class Stan Gold was placed in the hearse and all was ready to go.... but we didn't have everyone there..... so we waited a bit and off we went.

Our Ride Captain was Craig and he did a great job! The ride went very smooth. Thank you for a great ride plan.

The Honor Guard Sgt on the end has been at many of our missions, and always stands proud for our veterans!

This was a two part mission. Meet Sean and family at Travis on Wed. and escort home and then at the service to escort him and family to his final resting place.

Bill Roller managed to get one pic before he was told that was a no-no! Out on the flight line waiting for Sean's plane.

I couldn't make the Travis ride, but was waiting at the funeral home when they came in with flag and saluting along with the Honor Guard.

Today in we met at the service and formed flag lines for those that attended and then proceeded to the cemetery.

We staged about a block from the service and had a great group! 23 bikes and one two-up. The flag is going to a man we escorted to San Jose Airport on the way to the sandbox. He asked for a PGR flag and Doug and I chipped in and bought one for him. Doug was the ride captain at that ride as well as this one and is at your left in the pic, at the end. We all signed it.... until the pen ran out of ink, sigh...

We pulled into the church lot and parked in front of the hearse. Then began the Plan A or Plan B debate. Doug was working with the escorts and said he wanted two flagged bikes in front , then family and the rest of the bikes = Plan A. A police Lt. said NO! = Plan B. This bounced around a couple times and B won.

A couple folks talking, Kevin on the right is a Goldstar Dad and rides with PGR, but today was to attend the service.

We had a great escort team!! Well over a dozen of our finest and it was flawless!! We ALL thank those that took the time to escort Sean's final journey! It is MUCH appreciated.

Looking back at the bike line. For a Monday after a long weekend, this was a fantastic showing.

The cemetery service was well attended by high ranking officers. I saw one general. The mayors of Walnut Creek and Concord made a short speech. An outstanding service!

ALR / PGR SanJose Ca 11/11/07 Parade

San Jose, CalEFornYa, I like Arnie!!! Vets day parade! ALR got into the parade and we asked PGR to join us, only appropriate as ALR founded PGR! And most of us are PGR.

Some of us met at American Legion Lodge 564 at 1000, Doug and Mike were already there when I arrived. It's a great place to stage, the coffee is brewed!!! Thank you Lodge 564!!!

8 bikes showed up there, Tom called and said I'm lost... he took San Thomas and turned off on Walsh, so he was REAL close!! GBG

Doug, Mike were first, then Tom, Tim, Jack, Rich, Craig, Showed up and we met Geno and John at the parade site, 3 more PGR riders showed up and joined us at the parade staging site, Gary and his wife also met us at the staging site, 14 in all!! .

And in fine fashion as I'm apt to do.... we left 564 and went 3 blocks... I kept looking at the bikes and said to myself, "It's a wonderful world"!! ------ and... I only saw 6 bikes.. we left with 8 and I see the tail gunner... pull over and stop on the 101 on ramp.. and I ask, am I missing something? As I'm apt to do...

Tail gunner said someone lost a flag and another guy stopped to help.. We waited for a few minutes and here they came!! And a roaring off we went!! GB

Almost "lift off" from 564, Doug in the middle, that PGR logo is not a banner, he had a decal made, it's stuck on the inside of his windshield. When I get my fairing, gonna do it!!

Ok, it's a parade!!! We were privileged to see many fine groups of folks!!! Gorgeous cars and fine groups of uniformed folks!!

This was a wheel chair group of W II vets that rode the route!!! God Love 'um!!!

I got one shot on the scoot, it's called getting in line and waiting!!! We got lots of hoots and cheers!!! We also warmed our pipes and tooted our horns, some of us have VERY loud horns!!! ..... we had a blast!! GBSEG !!!!

PGR - Send off for Sgt Joe Quirarte Pacifica, Ca 10 28 07

The mission was to send off for Sgt Joe Quirarte ! We staged at the Shell station on Fassler and 1. in Pacifica. When I arrived I was talking to Doug about it only taking 30 minutes to get to SFO, and he did a severe blink!!

The rides I've done in Pacifica go to SFO, so that's what I thought, Debbie= SFO!!!. I had the mission printout and sure enough, it was to San Jose, think I took a few days off Doug's life!

Debbie asked us to meet at her place a bit early so we did a short visit at the Shell station and KSU at 1115! I stayed 'til 1130 due to the original post time, but no one showed. We did have 5 bikes at Shell and a family friend joined us at Debbie's.

We were about to take off and Gary's bike wouldn't start, so got my jumpers out and one of the other bikes had easy access to their battery and we jumped it! Sounds like new battery time!!

Welcome home Heath!!! That was the mission and a fun one it was. I arrived about 1030 at Bob Dron's Harley 151 Hegenberger Rd, just outside the airport. The next time we meet there, please go in and check out the scoots. He has a FINE bunch of bikes.

Following arrivals were Phil from Cupertino, Mark from Concord, Kieth and Nick from Morgan Hill and Doug (Sgtmaj) met us in the airport, I guess he just missed us at Bob's.

Debbie, Heath's mom, Dotty and a Gold Star Mom met us and I'm sorry I forgot her name to say Hi, hugs and intro's!!! Thank you for stopping by!!! MUCH appreciated!!!

It is always a pleasure to see the big smiles when we great returning heroes, that includes ours also!!!

It was an honor and pleasure to meet this fine group of folks! A side note, another PGR rider from the south that was escaping the fires was there and he walked over to talk, I forget the name, he wanted to thank us for doing this and said we should be doing more of this. I thanked him for riding.

And I also want to thank all that rode today!!! Your being there makes a difference!

ALR District 10 member Mike Nettles's father passed away and ALR Districts 9, 10, 13, 28 and PGR rode in honor of his passing A WWII vet and lifelong fire fighter.

District 13 (The Lucky 13) met at Post 564 to go out for breakfast, meet others and proceed to Post 117. As I recall we had 9 bikes, great group! Wish I'd taken names, I'll give it a try. Ed and Jennette, Gary, George, Bill, Doug, Jake, and Mike and wife, sorry forgot the name, sigh.. and of course, Cranky!!!

Met up with Dist 28 ALR and we pretty much filled up their back room, I'm sure folks thought they'd been invaded!!! GBG Jake looking for a seat!

More of the group.......... And we had a lady there that was riding 2-up with her son and we celebrated her 87th birthday!!!

Bikes lined up in front of Post 117, counted 31!!!! And we met more at the services.

This was the staging point for PGR. We had some dual membership folks, PGR / ALR -
Jake, Gary, Cranky and PGR - Daryl, Ray, Doug, Gary and Susan the trike riders!!!, Larry and Woody!! THANK YOU FOR RIDING!!!!! Very much appreciated by the family!

I posted a KSU of 1230 and the group left at 1215, so Gary, Doug and I stayed behind to see if anyone would show up. VERY glad we did, a rider form Salinas came in (Daryl, I think) and it would have been .............. to miss him........

Heading our for the service from Post 117 to Mission Blvd in Fremont... the instructions were very easy, just head down the street!!!

Doug led with his G.P.S and we came to an intersection and he asked which way, the instruction... Ole lucky me, I said go straight and we got lost, but Doug came to the rescuce with his G.P.S, as my M.A.P failed! sigh

At the services we met ALR District 09, bikes were parked everywhere, we must have had over 60 bikes, nice turnout! Lotsa folks there so the PGR riders went on to the ceremony site so there would be a flag line waiting for them.

Bikes starting to arrive at the ceremony site. It was quite a sight to see all the bikes coming in! All of the services I've been at are different, this one did NOT break that record!! GBG A bit of confusion as to what was happening. But that is not new and PGR folks are adaptable. It's about the fallen hero and family, their day of mourning.

But the end result was the intended result. PGR stood with our flags and honored a fallen hero. Mike thanked us for being there, and it was an honor.

PGR - WWII veteran Sgt William James Deal

PGR was asked to stand in honor for Sgt Deal, a true American Hero. He was a member of VFW and they had an Honor Guard there as did the Army for services. It was a proud moment and I thank the family for inviting PGR.

I think it was 12 bikes that showed, one two up and a cage with a Soldiers Angle to honor Sgt. Deal.

The other side of the driveway... It was an interesting procession, the wife was to carry the flag and walk to the gazebo, but the curator said the flag should go to the Army Honor Guard to be carried. So the wife, son and a few others walked down the road to the services and we marched in unison, two lines on each side to escort the family. It was an honor!

This was a multi part mission. We met the arriving flight Sat. at San Jose Airport to escort our Hero to Oak Hills. The escort by San Jose Police was flawless! Ever changing mission but that's normal.

Monday 9/17 we were to meet at Oak Hills to escort our Hero to Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph down town San Jose. The turnout was great, family, friends and PGR! I'll wait for the mission complete post from Doug, but I think it was well over a dozen bikes.

We had a GREAT group of folks!!! MANY thanks to the Mt Diablo Hog - Walnut Creek Branch for their attendance!!! They were the majority of the group and it was greatly appreciated by the family and PGR!!!

My blog, just a few pics, the mission was busy and many movements and miles. Pics are top to bottom, text for a pic is under the pic, click on a pic for a larger pic!

Three of us met at the staging point and the two I met said Google was was misleading on directions. We saw some bikes go by but they never came back, so I thought it was just us three, and I've been on missions with less.

We left for Hulls Mortuary at 9:15, pulled in and there were sixteen bikes waiting!!! It was fantastic!!! The Mt Diablo Hog - Walnut Creek Chapter found out about the mission and were there in force!!!

Our Long Rider award goes to Dave and Linda (I hope I got it right!) from Tahoe City, 200 miles one way, many thanks for their spirit! The bikes eventually totaled twenty!

Mom and family met us in the parking lot and thanked us for being there. We escorted MSgt. Patrick D. Magnani, plus the family to Christ the King Church. We took back streets, did some intersection handling and it was flawless. Some of the HOG Chapter folks were from the area and led the procession.

After the service it was on to Dixon National Cemetery, thirteen bikes made the forty mile trip, and we got to ride over the new bridge section. The escort was larger than expected and we had a bit of fragmentation, but that's to be expected.

The service at Dixon was handled by the Air Force in a very crisp and professional manner. After the service we went to the bikes as the family wanted a private final ceremony.

PGR - Welcome Home- 129th Civil Engineers

The last of the 129th coming home Sunday the 9th!!! The Civil Engineers. Welcome home and it's good to see the troops coming home.

We met off SFO at a service station about 4 minutes away. The plan was to let them get on the bus and swoop in, surround the bus and hit the road.

All went fine, started with nine bikes, and one joined us on the road as he missed the staging change but caught us on 101. Ten bikes, a nice escort, flags flying!!!

The folks were at the welcome area when we arrived as they were on a bus and offloading was very fast. We had to park our bikes and walk in to the hanger.

We did a lot of handshaking, good to see smiling faces!

After a few hello's we left the families as they had a lot of catching up to do. Took a pic of the bikes staged at the airport. Nice turnout!! As we walked out, the group clapped for us, Rich said the wrong folks are clapping, and I said that thought just went through my mind also.

Wish I could think like 20 years ago, my first thought was that our group should've turned and clapped for them, they are the heroes that deserve our respect!!!

Welcome Home- 129th Air Wing ANG, Moffett Field Sunnyvale CA!!! After a "few" changes, we got it right!!! Met at Moffett Field NSA at 1500 (3 pm for the Air Force GBG) and went to welcome home some Heroes!!!

At staging, we have Tony's Harley in front... , He works there, MSGT. and more of the bikes behind.

Had one cager, last minute run, Roy made it in on 4 wheels, and a new rider to the right. I hate gettin' old, I won't guess at the name...

The 129th had a table of goodies waiting, but my guess is that is what was in the chairs...

This pic was trying to get the California Air National Guard sign on the hanger in with us and, well she had to back wwaaaayyyyy up, but it worked!!!

We gathered 08/27/07 to welcome home a fallen Hero! He was being flown into San Jose, Ca airport, on the west side, a private part of the airport.

We met Matt's mom, wife and daughter. Gerald McMillan from the San Jose USO came to honor the returning Hero, as well as six Blue Star Moms.

The Colonel of the Honor Guards tried to get us access to the tarmac, but was not able to do so, we waited in front for the group to leave and escort Matt to the Funeral Home.

We had 6 bikes, 4 here and one cage, Garlic Indian come in from work and did not have his nice looking Indian.

We had Roy cvrider, Garlic Indian, Rich's boy and Rich on the other side and Doug. The Colonel was giving us the run down on the mission.

This is Friday 08/31/07 where we had our flags waiting to welcome Matt's motorcade. Services were held in Los Altos at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

The Tallman family were gracious and every one of them made a point to meet us. I thank them for the welcome and say again, it was an honor to be there! Thank you Matt for your service!!!

Matt had a graveside service that went well and the weather was very nice. There were fears that protesters would be there, but none showed. There were two Sheriff's units by the front gate just in case.

A 2 star General gave the PGR Riders Challenge Medallions, Tom, Doug and myself, the 3 riders.

PGR - SPC Isaac Norton Welcome Home Oakland

PGR was asked to welcome home an injured Hero and we were pleased to do so!! We had 17 bikes and 18 folks! Great day, great ride!

Here we are at Oakland, Ca Airport to welcome home Issac. Some of the bikes and folks getting ready to go into the terminal.

Most of us are in the pic, we're waiting for Isaac to get off the plane, joke on us, he came in behind us. I said, Hey!!! You didn't walk thru our line!! GBG He was in great spirits and smiled!

Isaac and mom talking after we met, center and right. He asked to pose with us while his family took pics, I hope they came out GREAT!!!

So we all got back to the parking lot and needless to say the sensors are not bike friendly so a bit of hassle to get out, but we made it and staged at a wide spot in the road until we all got together.

We were headed to Livermore so Isaac could have lunch with his dad, about 20 miles and off we went! All went fine, but as with freeways and a lot of bikes there is always threading of the escort, but we managed. One interesting thing transferring between 880 and 238 on a curve, a auto battery was in the middle of our lane, luck was kind to us all!!!

At Livermore and Isaac is reading some notes that were intended to be passed to him. A good ride to welcome a Hero home! We'll do it again in a couple weeks to escort him back to Oakland for his trip to Tx for treatment to make him 110%. And he's ready! He's a military man and likes it!! God be with you Isaac.

The service was very nice! PGR is more an honor and escort mission, in this mission we were part of the service, a first for all of us, I think. It was an honor, I don't have the words to express the feeling of love, respect and gracious memory of an American hero that was expressed today. Thank you again for allowing us to be there.

Joe Kleinsmith is the VFW Chaplain and conducted the service and did a fine job. Many good words were spoken about Jon by his family, he was truly a loved and lucky man, and a man of God.

Jon's service was a true definition of a celebration of life. God bless and comfort the family and and friends of this hero! Jon's ashes will be scattered at a later date by the USN.

We had a nice turn out even with multiple events happening today. Sloopdog, Woody, Don B and I arrived at the staging site.

It was interesting, I arrived early so I could do a test ride, I don't like to get lost. I arrived at the staging early, and the other three arrived together, I asked them where they met, and they didn't, they just all arrived at the same time.

About time for us to leave a car pulled up with a young lady, and she said she knew Don, well it turns out it was one of the Honor Guards and she recognized our flags and Don.

1300 KSU and off we went... and I missed the turnoff, sigh, I'll never live that one down...

We arrived at the home and it was on the beach, right across the road from the ocean. The bike on the right is Joe Kleinsmith's who helped me with the details, he is the VFW Chaplain in Santa Cruz. BTW both Joe and Jon's widow Janet are PGR members and Janet is looking to get a motorcycle and join us at missions. Hope to see them again.

This is after the service, Don B, myself, Janet, Woody and Sloopdog. The dog is Jon's and as I remember the dogs name is Bill. The entire family, and there were children and grand children there, were very gracious! I cannot thank them enough for the warmth and welcome we received. They felt like old friends and that's the way we were treated.

After the service we were all treated to hot dogs, hamburgers and beer, how could we refuse? As I recall, not an effort was made GBG!

I met and shook hands with some of his family and I appreciate their thoughts and again thank them for asking us to be at his service.

One of the family members is a PGR State Captain sharing a partial state responsibility, and I forget the state, sorry, I think it is Ohio.

There was an escort service with two bikes, Glen and Bob and they did a great job.

All six bikes lined up for the escort. Don B from Saratoga, Walt from Modesto, Deacon from Sacto, Mickey from Rocklin and Ken from Napa, of course Cranky for south San Jose, I get the long rider tag at 85 miles.

The escort was interesting as there were many vehicles and two professional escorts, so the procession had to move slowly. It went off very smooth, they did a great job.

I thank Don B for his GPS and keeping me from getting lost, the plans changed and my pre-printed maps were not good.

The front bike in this pic is Deacon's, a real chopper, the motor is a '46 with a suicide clutch, kick start and a bikers bike!

This is after the service and we're headed to our bikes to try to make a quiet exit.

The bike on the right end showed up later, Ron Tuason, a Sheedy family friend, showed up. He had called me during the week and asked about the mission, glad he could make it and he enjoyed the ride. Matt and Debbie were glad to see him.

I managed a pic at PFC Matthew Sheedy's house.. As you can see, there are more bikes present.

There was quite a crowd! Matt's send off brought a lot of well wishers and many hugs. I found out one of the reasons for the crowd... they had one GREAT all night'r!!! A lot of them came yesterday and never left, I love it!!! Matt, hope you had a fantastic time!!!

As I walked to my bike for a map, I stopped and looked at a family friend.... It was Ed Chapman, Jessie's dad! We did a welcome home in March 16. ( the reason I keep a trip log... memory = 0 )

Ed asked that the procession stop by his home on the way out, I have to tell you, I went by Ed's house twice on a trial run to Matt's place. I tooted my horn.. That's a 139 db air and 125 db electric horn so toot is an understatement, and he heard it, went to meet us at our staging place but missed us, and went to Matt's place. The families are friends and hugs and love shared!! Thanks Ed!

I led the procession, followed by two bikes with large flags, and then Debbie in front of Matt's vehicle. The rest of the bikes and then about four other cars, and our shotgun rider, Rich. Rich and I got to switch roles this time! Woody was road blocking in Pacifica and did a great job!

As it turns out Matt's mom Debbie was riding on a bike with her friend to SFO! I'm not sure, but I think that is a first to have family member leading on an escort mission and it was great to see Mom leading her son!

The ride was fairly smooth, we always get threaded but manage to recover. Made it to the airport, slowed a bit for us to regroup and the family and friends went into parking as we staged and dressed the flags. Many horns honked!!

It was a great day! Thanks to the Sheedy family for inviting PGR on this escort mission!

God Bless and watch over all that serve, I hope Matt remembers to let us know when he comes back for a Welcome Ride Home!!!

The service was very nice. The family tradition was to walk behind the hearse, and in this case it was up a very steep hill. A couple grounds keepers were using their small utility vehicles to ferry folks up the hill.

There were hundreds in attendance, I'd guess 250+. The weather was kind to all a breeze and a little warm, a very nice day. They played some tunes one of them was "Proud to be an American".

We had 6 bikes and 7 PGR members, Ken from Napa, Don B from Saratoga, Glenn B from Los Gatos, Brodie from Milpitas, Rick from Santa Rosa, Craig R. from Livermore, and myself from San Jose. Ken and Rick were the long riders.

There was a pool and a water fall that was pretty and peaceful.

The day was great! The funeral site was at the top of a steep hill and the view was outstanding, the setting very nice. Looking out over San Jose.....

Roberto was laid to rest under an Oak tree at the top of the hill, very nice setting. The Honor Guard Rifle team lined up by the sidewalk waiting for the hearse.

I'm sorry that the organizer Steve "Sayhey" Stansberry could not be there, he had left shoulder replacement scheduled earlier in the year and it got postponed, so I had the honor of leading this mission. Hope Steve is doing much better!!! GBG

So PGR was a Niles Canyon, Fremont Parade member!!! Number 2 on the list! The first was 42 bikes from HOGS! OK, so they had more but we had 8 bikes and fun!!! Great bunch of folks!!

My post on the Special Mission Thread speaks to my getting lost, sigh, but it turned out quite fine!!! I talked to the HOGS folks and when the last (tail gunner) bike went by, we were to fall in.... That we did...

PGR - PFC Timothy Vimoto San Jose, CA 06 18 07

Due to communications problems, this mission was not posted in time to offer broad coverage. As so, we had three PGR members at the service. Walt came in from Modesto, Sonny is local in San Jose, as I am. But we were well received and thanked for being there. The Samoans were a very warm group of folks, and I thank them in their time of sadness.

The service started a bit late as they were waiting for the Samoan Representative to arrive. After services began, we had time to talk with the escorts, most were from the County Sheriff's dept. and also the Honor Guard. Procession and destinations details worked out.

The father and uncle spoke with us, both in uniform and very proud of their son and nephew. My heart goes out to them, may the Good Lord extend his Love and Grace upon the family and friends.

The cemetery escort was flawless!!! I've never seen better, the Police were everywhere, and multiple at every intersection. I've never seen Tully Road empty before.

The cemetery services were also perfect. Many family and friends. After the formal services, everyone at the service sung three songs, one of them was "when love is home", sung in English and Samoan. It was well rehearsed, and it brought tears to our eyes, it was absolutely beautiful!!!

I thank Tim's family for having PGR present, it was and will always be an honor.

Craig, Steve, Rich and I went to meet the jet carrying Spc. Doonewey White to the Hayward airport. We staged at Starbucks and Steve bought us coffee. This was on Friday 6/8/7, my birthday!!!

We met on Monday 06/11 at the funeral home to escort our hero the the church for services.

PGR mission for Lnc Cpl Tomas Valero Rodeo, Ca

Three PGR riders showed for the services, Grant from Santa Rosa, Glen from Sacramento, and myself. Thirteen other bikes showed up to make some noise during the cemetery escort.

both Tom and his dad Lyndon loved cars and bikes, which accounted for the number of bikes that showed up.

Lyndon planned a special ride to the cemetery with Tom's ashes, a 1930 Ford! With a 327 and three dueces. A great looking car and it sounded just as well as it looked! Glen was all over that car, loved it.

Lyndon at the wheel told the riders to look out as a couple times on the way to the cemetery, he was going to light up the tires!!

The service lasted thirty minutes and The procession proceeded through some construction to Highway 4, over to I 80 and to the cemetery. I 80 was busy as usual so the bikes had fun with run blocking. We did get threaded a bit but everyone made it to the services safely.

Lyndon forgot the Honor Flag and one of the bikes went to get it, and on with the service.

It was an honor to be there and I thank the family for inviting PGR!!

Last but not least, I took a few shots of the bikes at the service. Some nice looking hardware!!!

The escort and services to the Presidio were cancelled, so our participation was limited to having a flag line at the services. A few folks came by and shook our hands, but it really would have been an honor to escort this young hero to his final resting place and show the family and friends support at their time of sorrow.

So we saddled up and Rich led us around to the services, it wasn't far. One more pic of the bikes lined up in front. Notice the tall flags, they were nicely done by the American Legion. Looked real fine!

PGR BSM Modesto VFW Meet and Gree 05 12 07

The local Fire Dept came with their floating water pump to empty the pool. Those trout had a date with a cleaning table to the right of the pool!!! A lady was doing the honors and she was good, they met their destination in a hurry.

As the water got lower, folks around the pool were given nets to get the fish. They were real nice size. Some little kids got in on it too, they were having a blast, I should've been snapping instead of napping!! One actually got in the pool and was chasing them!!!

None of the PGR riders were there, I knew they were supposed to be out for a ride, but I also thought they were supposed to be back by 1300. I asked Chief, and he said they were visiting one of ours in the hospital, due to a medical condition. I think Scooter is going to publish info soon, so I won't go into detail.

Well, it was on to 1500 and I had my lunch and made a outhouse visit and was ready to hit the road, and the riders finally arrived. They were all headed to the food, and I'd already flipped my go home switch, so I saddled up and took off.

I went over Corrall Hollow Rd into Livermore. The ride is nice with a few miles of twisty's. The wind was howling thru there, I was getting hit with 45mph gusts, so I used all of my lane. When I pulled of 580 to make that left, I actually had a hard time turning the bike, the wind kept standing me up! It's nice to miss the 205 / 580 mess thru Livermore.

I really do want to thank BSM and VFW for inviting us. It was quite a treat, and I really appreciated it!!! I'm sure I speak for all that attended. Cranky

After we ate, one of the BSMs grabbed the mike and thanked a lot of folks for being there. She also introduced a Gold Star Mom. That always effects me. We had two boys back from the sandbox. It was nice to shake their hands.

I felt sorry for one of them, I was behind him in line, don't know how I did it but almost lost my hamburger to the ants, but managed to save it by rubbing it all over the back of his T shirt. I DID apologize profusely for doing so!!!

Chief got tagged to tell the folks about the PGR, never knew this before, don't put him on a stage unless you have a hook!! GBG

PGR Dixon National Cemetery Dedicaton

Thanks to our new National Cemetery for inviting the Patriot Guard Riders to attend. We did have other bike groups there and I / we thank them for attending. I was a GREAT day!!!

I'd like to also thank the PGR folks that worked to make this happen, all the logistics and communication.

And for our veteran members, HEY!!!! We got go see our new home!!! Yeah, it ain't if, it's how and when, and we all get a turn. And please take that with a GBG (Great Big Grin!!!)

And last, but the BEST, the folks that came to honor the new home of passing veterans!!! There was a Medal of Honor person there, and many others. The Air Force band played all the military tunes and those of that group stood up.

The guy next to me and I had to wave, we weren't sitting down!! GBG When they played "off we go..." couple of airdales...

One of them above us.... I just noticed it, and very fitting, that was my flag pole caught along with the air plane.

We even had a 3 jet fly over!!! And these were BIG babies!!! Bombers!!!!

GoldwaterRep and I led one of the groups out to the cemetery. Police and Fire folks blocked the intersections and we took it nice and slow. A really nice ride. We had quite a few folks standing by the road waving!!! Nice.

First of all lets say a thanks to the Lord for a Great, OK Real nice day!!!! We had a bit of cool windy part of the day, but from what was expected, it was great!!! Thanks!!!

I only managed to get 3 pics, we dropped the family and friends at SFO so they could say their goodbye's in private. I managed to get one pic at SFO and that's Ed Chapman, Jesse's Dad, and some of us at the gate. The USO got us passes so we could go to the gate, Sayhey and I waited at the gate, he has too much metal to make it thru security and I didn't feel like getting undressed. We had thought we could just go in with the passes, but we had to go thru security. Next time I"ll be "properly undressed" for the event. Sigh

After the ride to Pacifica, I decided to take the less traveled return. Went down 1 to 84 and up to 35. Well, if you're at the intersection of 84 and 35, there's only one thing to do???!!!! Afterwards, on down 35 to 9 and home. Fantastic ride!!! Am I supposed to have fun at these missions???!!! GB

It was a great ride!!!! Met at the (Exxon GBG) Valero, Went to SFO and ran all over the parking area, kinda like Margareta ville!!! but we finally landed!!!

Went to the gate, a bit early, standing around, Steve walked up and said, "hey, you here to welcome Sean??!!" 'course we said Yup!! Think we got a new convert, he was pumped!!! BTW we had a new member Sonny from San Jose, Welcome Brother!!!

While we were there, a lady asked if we were there to welcome home a vet, we said Yup!!! Well she said her BIL was coming in a few minutes would we give him a welcome? duh, we said Yup!!!

She told him, "look what I did for you".... met with skepticism...

Then we met Sean's folks as they were headed to the gate, and hugs and handshakes around. Nice folks. SayHey asked if they'd like us to escort them home.... On the road again.... GBG on to Foster City ... later...

A high school band was there with a trio of Glockenspeils anyway, it sounded great.

Sean came up and he got a Semper Fi Marine welcome home. So the we all took off and escorted Sean home. Nice place, met the grand folks and had a great time. Took a pic of Sean and PGR by the bikes, and of course he sat on the most beautiful bike on the street, her name is Ruby, and SayHey led us to 101, right SayHay? Do I have to say it, Corrigan???????!!!

I haven't been on the San Mateo Bridge very often, but today was one of them, Headed towards 880, right after I took off my sweatshirt, cause it was hot, did I mention there was fog in the air? Being on the bay? Steve, had to have some more fun!!! But I DID find the way to San Jose!!!!! GBG
